Tongda Group’s Flax Wet Spinning Machines Installed at Top-Tier International Textile Institute, Bolstering Cutting-Edge Research on Specialty Fibers.

2026-04-17

Recently, exciting news arrived from the Tongda Group: the company’s independently developed flax roving frame has been successfully selected by the Wilson College of Textiles at NC State University to conduct research on the spinning of flax, hemp, and other specialty fibers.

As one of the world's leading institutions of higher learning in the field of textiles, the college exerts significant influence in the research of textile materials and spinning processes. This collaboration not only reflects the international academic community's recognition of Tongda's technical prowess in textile machinery, but also marks a significant step forward for the company's equipment within the realm of special fiber research.

The flax fine spinning machine newly commissioned for operation integrates advanced design concepts with an intelligent control system, demonstrating outstanding performance and efficiency. The equipment allows for the flexible configuration of various process parameters via a touchscreen interface—adjustments that can be made seamlessly whether the machine is in operation or at a standstill. Furthermore, roving linear density, yarn count, and related process parameters are all subject to automated management, thereby significantly enhancing operational convenience and production stability.

In terms of structural and operational systems, the equipment features an independent, modular motion system design; both the drafting shafts and feed rollers are fitted with sealed bearings, effectively reducing maintenance frequency and ensuring long-term, stable operation through only periodic servicing. Furthermore, the use of aluminum spindle pulleys further optimizes start-stop performance, significantly reduces equipment vibration, and enhances the overall operational stability of the machine.

In terms of production performance, this roving frame effectively reduces yarn breakage rates and enhances yarn quality; its spindle speed reaches 7,800 rpm, with the capability to be increased to 10,000 rpm to meet specific client requirements. Overall production efficiency is boosted by approximately 30% to 40% compared to traditional machinery, while simultaneously achieving energy conservation and waste reduction—consuming about 20% less electricity than comparable equipment.

Furthermore, the equipment offers advantages for clean production, effectively preventing oil contamination issues and improving the working environment. It is also equipped with an automatic production data display function, facilitating real-time monitoring of output and process parameters. Through the integration of internet and wireless network interfaces, the machinery supports remote monitoring and intelligent management, thereby providing robust support for digitized textile manufacturing.

Amidst the current trend in the textile industry toward green and functional development, natural and eco-friendly fibers—such as flax and hemp—have emerged as key areas of research interest. Tongda Group continues to drive innovative applications of its machinery within the sustainable fiber sector, delivering efficient, energy-saving, and intelligent solutions to the global textile industry.

Moving forward, Tongda Group will further strengthen its collaborations with international research institutions and universities, deepen technological innovation, and continuously enhance the global competitiveness of its high-end textile machinery.
